Why IV therapy

Vitamins and minerals taken orally are absorbed via the gut — a process limited by intestinal integrity, genotype, competition between substances and saturation mechanisms. Vitamin C absorbs at only 10–30% at high oral doses; intestinal absorption saturates at around 200 mg and the rest is excreted.
Oral glutathione is even more problematic. Peptidases in the gastrointestinal tract degrade the tripeptide before it can be absorbed intact — under 5% reaches systemic circulation as intact glutathione. IV infusion and IM injection bypass this barrier entirely.

Glutathione is the body's primary intracellular antioxidant — a tripeptide of glutamate, cysteine and glycine. Every cell produces and consumes glutathione continuously as part of its oxidative defence, liver detoxification and immune function.

Hydroxocobalamin is the natural B12 form found in food. It has a longer biological half-life, better ability to support methylation and does not require detoxification of a cyanide molecule, which Cyanocobalamin (the synthetic form) does. MediBalans uses exclusively Hydroxocobalamin.
