MediBalans × Meet Mario · BioAge

Understand your biology.Track what changes.

Blood results, functional analyses and a photograph offer different perspectives on your biological profile. BioAge in Meet Mario helps you understand the information. Our team puts findings in context and prioritises the next step with you.

Your BioAge profile

Different inputs. A considered direction.

Each part retains its own method, date and meaning. Choose a perspective to explore how we use it.

01 · Blood results

Start with what you have already measured.

A dated blood report can provide the inputs for a blood-based phenotypic-age estimate. Meet Mario uses a published model when the required markers and your age at blood collection are available.

The result keeps its collection date and limitations. Missing or unsuitable values may mean that a calculation needs to wait.

02 · Functional tests

Give your findings clinical context.

When functional analyses are relevant, our team considers them alongside symptoms, nutrition, lifestyle and previous investigations. Every analysis needs a clear question.

For example, Organix and CMA have their own methods and limitations. They can provide complementary information for further assessment. They carry no weights in the published blood-based age calculation.

03 · Photograph

A separate perspective on appearance.

The photo feature gives an experimental estimate of how old a face looks. You choose to use photographs in Meet Mario, with the consent and image requirements shown in the app.

Image quality, lighting and pose can affect the result. The estimate is shown separately from blood results and describes facial appearance. Access to the photo feature depends on your account.

How to get started.

  1. 01

    Bring your information

Create your private Meet Mario account and upload an original report or a clear image of your results. You can start with blood tests already performed by another provider.

  2. 02

    See what can be used

Meet Mario checks which information can be read and used. An age calculation requires the right markers, units and collection date. Photo and clinical features may require different account access.

  3. 03

    Put findings in context

For clinical interpretation, our team considers relevant results alongside your history, how you feel and what you want to improve. Additional tests are selected after individual assessment and agreement.

  4. 04

    Follow what matters

We follow symptoms, everyday function and relevant measurements. Comparisons over time need to account for methods and sampling conditions. If the plan is not helping, we reconsider the next step.

Blood-based phenotypic age

Does your report have the right inputs?

The published blood-based model uses nine markers from one dated report, together with your age at blood collection. Meet Mario’s current blood feature is intended for ages 20–84.

  • Albumin
  • Creatinine
  • Glucose
  • CRP
  • Lymphocytes (%)
  • MCV
  • RDW-CV (%)
  • ALP
  • White blood cells

Routine blood panels do not all include these markers. The app shows whether your information is sufficient or needs further assessment. New testing is chosen according to your situation.

What does the result tell you?

BioAge brings several perspectives together to support understanding and follow-up. The blood-based age estimate, functional analyses and photo appearance estimate are reported separately. There is no validated combined age from all three parts.

These features are experimental. A model value does not establish a diagnosis, remaining lifespan or treatment benefit. Clinical decisions follow an individual medical assessment.

Methods and research

Blood-based phenotypic age follows the clinical biomarker model published by Levine and colleagues in 2018. It uses nine blood markers and chronological age. It is separate from the paper’s DNA-methylation model and from Meet Mario’s photo feature. The publication does not validate a combination of the app’s different components.

Questions about BioAge

Do I need to buy a test package to start?

You can start with blood results you already have. If the report includes the nine suitable markers and the other requirements are met, the blood-based estimate can be calculated. Any new tests and clinical protocols are selected separately after assessment.

Is this the same as your RNA and protein panel?

This page describes BioAge in Meet Mario, with blood-based calculations, functional information and a separate photo appearance estimate. The RNA- and protein-based panel described on our biological-age page uses different analytical inputs.

Do functional tests and the photograph contribute to blood age?

The published blood-based model uses nine specified blood markers and your chronological age at collection. Functional analyses and photographs carry no weights in that calculation. They have their own roles in the wider profile and clinical assessment.

Can I use the photo feature without new blood tests?

The photo feature can be used separately when available in your account. It gives an experimental estimate of facial appearance. The blood-based calculation requires its own suitable inputs.

How often should I follow up?

Follow-up depends on the question being addressed. For photographs, follow the app’s current guidance. New blood tests and functional analyses are selected according to clinical need. Each result retains its measurement or collection date.

What does it cost?

Meet Mario’s current access and pricing terms apply to digital access. Laboratory tests and clinical protocols may have separate costs. A first consultation at MediBalans is free and lasts 45 minutes.
