Clinical work
MediBalans welcomes patients with complex chronic conditions that have remained unexplained in conventional care. Its approach starts with a principle: measure first, then treat. Investigations are selected according to the clinical question instead of a fixed package, and treatment is sequenced according to the limitation judged most likely to hinder recovery.

Global Constraint Rule
Dr Anthis developed Global Constraint Rule, MediBalans's clinical framework. The framework proposes that biological systems adapt to their most limiting factor, which may differ from the most obvious one. A symptom that brings a patient to the clinic may be a compensation for dysfunction elsewhere in the system.
The framework developed from clinical observation. A 2025 PNAS paper on microbial growth laws independently supported the underlying systems biology principle. That study concerns microbial growth, not clinical medicine; this limitation is stated wherever it is cited.
