MediBalans
Editorial policy and medical review
This page explains how clinical content on medibalans.com is written, reviewed, dated and corrected, and the limits on what a text may claim.
At a glance
Clinical content is written by a named physician, medically reviewed by another, dated with the latest evidence review and explicit about what it cannot claim. Benchmarks based on mechanisms and clinical experience are labelled as functional benchmarks, rather than validated thresholds.
Authors and reviewers
Clinical texts are written by Dr Mario Anthis, founder and clinical lead. Medical review is carried out by Dr Christina Biri, specialist in family medicine. The author and reviewer are different people.
Dates
Reviewed pages state their first publication date, latest evidence review and next planned review. A page whose evidence review is overdue is reviewed again or marked as unreviewed; it is not left undated.
What a text may claim
- Measured: what the clinic has actually observed and can demonstrate.
- Hypothesis: what is plausible but has not been demonstrated, explicitly identified as a hypothesis.
- Not demonstrated: stated explicitly, including when it concerns the clinic's own methods.
A functional benchmark is not a threshold drawn from an outcomes study. The distinction is stated wherever the benchmark is used. Observations from routine clinical practice are presented as observational data, with participant numbers, time points and non-response reported.
Patient reviews
Reviews shown on the site describe patient-reported experiences published independently on Reco.se. They are not controlled studies and do not demonstrate that a particular intervention caused a particular improvement. Individual outcomes cannot be generalised.
Corrections
Errors are corrected in the text, and the correction is noted at the next evidence review. Comments about factual content can be sent to [email protected].
Content does not replace medical care
These pages describe the clinic's method and the evidence supporting aspects of it. They do not provide individual medical advice or guarantee outcomes. Each assessment and protocol requires an individual clinical evaluation.
Independence
Content on medibalans.com is not sponsored. MediBalans does not accept payment from laboratories, manufacturers or other third parties for texts, mentions or recommendations, and does not publish paid placements.
MediBalans AB is an official distributor in Sweden for Genova Diagnostics and a distributor in the Nordic region for Cell Science Systems (ALCAT, MethylDetox). This is disclosed on each page describing these analyses. Test selection in patient care is guided by the clinical question, rather than the distributor relationship. Pages also explain when an analysis is not justified.
