MediBalans clinical care · Stockholm

Complex symptoms need one joined-up clinical assessment

When symptoms cross several areas, we begin with history, previous investigations, medicines, red flags and your priorities. We identify the primary root cause or decisive combination of interacting causes, then select the tests and next steps that clarify treatment order and change care.

MediBalans is a medical clinic run by accredited healthcare professionals. We combine medical history, clinical assessment, established medical diagnostics and carefully selected functional laboratory tests. In our clinical work, we identify the primary root cause — or the decisive combination of causes — in almost every case.

Defined scope

Scope of this care area

This route is for people whose clinical picture does not fit neatly into one symptom or one test. It is a care process: medical assessment, selective diagnostics where justified, an individual plan and an agreed point for review.

Complex cases can have multiple interacting causes. The clinical task is to identify which causes drive the symptoms and the order in which treatment should address them; a preselected laboratory package is not a substitute for assessment.

Who this care area may help

  • People with persistent symptoms affecting more than one area of health.
  • People whose previous work-up has not yet provided a useful clinical explanation.
  • People taking medicines or living with an ongoing condition who need potential next steps considered together.
  • People who are unsure whether a symptom pathway, standard investigation or selected specialist measurement is most appropriate.

Who this care area is not designed to help

  • Anyone needing urgent or emergency care.
  • Someone seeking a fixed test package without clinical assessment.
  • Someone seeking a guaranteed diagnosis, treatment or outcome.
  • Someone who only wants to buy a Genova home test; that is a separate direct-order service.

Clinical method

What “root cause” means here

At MediBalans, root cause means the primary driver, or decisive combination of causes, identified by combining medical history, clinical assessment, established medical diagnostics and carefully selected functional laboratory tests. In our clinical work, we identify the primary root cause — or the decisive combination of causes — in almost every case.

Complex cases can have multiple interacting causes. The clinical task is to determine which drive symptoms and treatment order; no single test or finding is treated as the whole explanation. Treatment response is individual and monitored clinically.

  1. Listen and triage. Review the symptom timeline, previous work-up, medicines, red flags and priorities.
  2. Identify the drivers. Determine which causes are decisive, which interact and which established medical pathways remain important.
  3. Select tools only when useful. Consider a measurement only when its answer may change the next decision.
  4. Plan and review. Agree priorities, follow-up timing and what would lead to adjustment or referral.

Tests are optional tools

No test is the pathway

Routine clinical tests, Genova analyses, ALCAT, CMA, HRV or other measurements may be considered for a defined question. No single test is required for every person, and more testing is not automatically better care.

The purpose of a measurement is to add information to assessment. A laboratory result does not by itself establish a diagnosis, prove causation or determine treatment.

Within clinic care

Meet Mario supports continuity

When included in your MediBalans plan, Meet Mario may support defined follow-up, practical questions and the plan between appointments.

It does not replace the clinician, is not continuously monitored and must not be used for urgent, emergency or diagnostic needs.

Separate direct purchase

Genova tests do not create clinic care

If you only want a Genova home test, use the separate Genova Diagnostics direct-order service. The purchase does not establish a MediBalans patient relationship; medical interpretation, treatment and follow-up are separate.

Every Genova test ordered through MediBalans includes one complimentary month of Meet Mario to explore the report, receive contextual explanations and collect questions.

Evidence and boundaries

Evidence and limitations

  • Evidence and clinical utility differ by condition, test and question; a broad panel is not automatically the right panel.
  • A reported value or association does not prove that it caused an individual person's symptoms.
  • Normal or abnormal specialist results do not replace ordinary medical assessment, established diagnosis or emergency care.
  • No assessment, test or care plan can guarantee diagnosis, improvement or a particular outcome.

Evidence base

Sources for scope and safety boundaries

The sources below support a person-centred, coordinated assessment that brings symptoms, medicines, risks, goals and alternatives into an individual plan; they do not show that any single specialist test can establish the whole cause by itself.

These sources do not validate Genova, ALCAT, CMA, HRV or any proprietary panel, and they do not promise diagnosis, improvement or any particular outcome.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does MediBalans mean by root cause?

Root cause means the primary driver, or decisive combination of interacting causes, identified by accredited healthcare professionals through medical history, clinical assessment, established medical diagnostics and carefully selected functional laboratory tests. In our clinical work, we identify the primary root cause — or the decisive combination of causes — in almost every case. No single test determines the whole explanation.

How does GCR help us identify the root cause?

GCR helps the clinician distinguish the primary driver from the secondary compensations it has produced. MediBalans interprets the history, clinical findings and selected medical and functional diagnostics together, then ranks the decisive causes and determines the order in which they should be addressed. GCR is a clinical reasoning framework, not a standalone test.

Do all complex cases receive the same tests?

No. History, previous investigations, medicines, red flags and priorities determine the next step. A test is considered only when its result may inform a clinical decision.

Can I buy a Genova test without becoming a MediBalans patient?

Yes. A direct Genova order is a separate purchase and does not establish a patient relationship with MediBalans. Every Genova test ordered through MediBalans includes one complimentary month of Meet Mario.

Is Meet Mario a replacement for clinical follow-up?

No. When included in a MediBalans care plan, Meet Mario can support defined follow-up, practical questions and continuity between visits. It does not replace the clinician and is not an emergency or diagnostic service.
